Ala Moana Building

Facts: New lobby design, New common area FF&E, New Signage and way-finding

Description: Architecture Design Collaborative (ADC) led the design for this commercial building renovation project in Honolulu, HI. Designed by the interiors team headed by Craig Chinn, AIA and Alexandra Gomez, the scope was to bring the current outdated interiors up to a Class A office environment. The scope included all new finishes from flooring to wall surfaces to ceiling conditions on all floor common areas. The elevator and lobby design improvements in addition to brand new signage design criteria would give the office tenants and visitors a brand new experience throughout the tower. ADC was charged to create both a fresh new upscale office aesthetics yet wanted economical solutions. It was critical to connect the designs to the environment and pay homage to the culture surrounding the location. Using materials that tied with the Hawaiian palette of colors and textures, the design was intended to be a contemporary approach at preserving historic ideals.
