Description: Architecture Design Collaborative came into the project at First Colony Mall with various solutions to rejuvenate the outdoor space. Renovations included removing an old run-down fountain to implement artificial turf with lawn games, furniture, and a structure with a large digital screen on one side to host movie nights, sport events or property events while the other side serves as a backdrop and node for the property’s valet parking. The artificial turf lawn ensures year-round use and includes various seating options for families to enjoy while dining or shopping at the property. All elements are flexible and can be stored away to allow for movie nights, holiday events or sponsored events such as farmer’s markets.
