Description: This Ashley Furniture Homestore underwent a store area consolidation, in which approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of the store was subdivided for a new tenant. The existing space was reconfigured and redesigned to accommodate the reduction in space. Led by Matthew Morrill and Kevin Lee, Architecture Design Collaborative (ADC) designed the new Exterior Façade, reconfigured the existing Entrance Pad and provided a full interior renovation of the space. The interior renovation was planned in five (5) phases that included new finishes, partitions and ceiling elements. The Exterior Façade was designed to bring a fresh look to the dated building, providing new materials such as the Boral Stone Veneer base and new paint finishes that incorporates the Ashley brand. Custom metal slats were added as a decorative element for the tilt-up concrete panels, helping to integrate the existing elements of the building with the new. The parapet was provided with cove lighting set into the cap, providing a ‘halo’ effect when lit up at night. Due to the existing conditions of the site, the entrance pad required renovations to provide a new accessible ramp. The existing stairs were reduced and landscaping was proposed to soften the concrete entrance. Additional scope included the reconfiguration of existing ramps and parking to meet code requirements.
