Built on relationships, shaped by experience

"ADC has been a reliable design partner as we deliver Ashley projects across the country. They understand both the brand and the realities of construction, helping us move from renovations to ground-up work with consistency and practical problem solving."

A collaborative studio with national reach

ADC is an architecture and interior design practice based in Southern California, working across the country with national brands, developers, property owners, and long-term clients.

Since 2014, ADC has completed more than 1,000 projects and is licensed in more than 40 states. Our work ranges from ground-up development and large-scale renovations to tenant improvements, repositioning, rollout programs, and smaller landlord projects.

Many of our longest client relationships span dozens of projects, and some extend well beyond 100.

Relationships that grow with the work

Many of ADC’s client relationships span years, multiple markets, and dozens of projects. Some begin with a single renovation and grow into national programs. Others start with landlord work, tenant improvements, or a ground-up project and continue as needs change.

That continuity gives ADC a deeper understanding of each client’s brand, operations, standards, and goals while every new site brings a different set of challenges to solve.

The way we work shapes what we make

ADC was created around a simple idea: better projects come from better conversations.

That means bringing the right people together early, understanding the problem before jumping to a solution, and creating an environment where ideas can be shared, tested, challenged, and improved.

Our studio is collaborative by design, but just as importantly, our clients are part of that collaboration. We want the people who know the project best to be involved in shaping it. Their goals, operations, experience, and perspective become part of the design conversation from the beginning.

We believe that openness leads to stronger ideas, clearer decisions, and places that feel considered as a whole.

Design Charrette

One of the clearest expressions of this approach is our Design Charrette.

Early in the project, we bring clients, designers, architects, and other key voices around the same table to explore ideas together. We sketch, question assumptions, test possibilities, and establish a direction while ideas are still flexible and decisions can move quickly.

It is a simple idea: get the important thinking out in the open and give everyone a voice in shaping the project.

The studio matters

The environment we work in is not separate from the work we produce.

ADC was built to be an open studio — a place where questions get asked, ideas get pinned up, drawings are marked over, materials are passed around, and people are comfortable challenging one another in the pursuit of a better solution.

That happens formally through design reviews and charrettes, and informally through the conversations that happen every day around the studio.

We believe good design benefits from different levels of experience and different ways of seeing a problem. Senior architects bring years of knowledge and judgment. Younger designers bring new tools, perspectives, and questions. Interior designers, architects, technical staff, consultants, and clients all see different parts of the same project.

Getting those perspectives into the conversation is part of the process.

For us, collaboration isn’t a company value we put on the wall. It’s how the work gets done.

Our mission

To create thoughtful, functional places through a collaborative design process that brings architecture, interiors, and the people behind the project together from the start.

We believe better decisions are made when the project is considered as a whole and the people who know it best are part of the conversation.

What matters to us

Listen before we draw

Understanding the project comes first. We ask questions, learn how the place needs to work, and make sure we understand the opportunities and constraints before deciding what the answer should be.

Share the work

The best idea doesn’t have to come from the person with the biggest title. We believe in open discussion, constructive debate, and bringing the right people into the conversation at the right time.

Make it work

Great design has to do more than look good. It has to function, get permitted, make sense financially, survive construction, and perform for the people who use it every day.

Stay involved

We don’t believe the design process ends when the drawings are issued. We remain engaged through construction, answering questions, solving problems, and protecting the ideas that matter.

The people behind the work

ADC brings together architects, interior designers, technical thinkers, project leaders, and emerging designers with different backgrounds and levels of experience.

We work closely, share ideas openly, and give people room to contribute. The result is a team that knows the work, knows the clients, and cares about getting both right.
