Architecture Design Collaborative took the initiative to imagine an entirely new environment for the food court at Deerbrook Mall. Originally a sea of similar styles of chairs and tables, the team was tasked to create a hierarchy throughout the court as well as to accommodate the family-oriented demographic. This was achieved by introducing a variety of new seating elements to the space. Long banquettes with loose seating on the opposite side allows patrons to adjust seating for the size of their family. A mixture of round and square tables were sprinkled throughout to create a variety of seating and bring the food court’s design together. High-top bars with charging stations were implemented as well as a custom booth that delineated the food court from the rest of the mall and elevated the dining experience.
