Architecture Design Collaborative (ADC) completed a new retail building within the Mesa Riverview Shopping Center in Mesa, Arizona. The project team developed creative solutions to blend the existing center’s materiality, such as brick and wood, with the building’s unique and contemporary design. Special attention was taken to ensure the theme was carried through on all visible sides of the building. Since this building is located along one of the major entrances to the center, the client wanted to use the opportunity to create a statement as patrons enter as well as harmonize the drive-thru and pedestrian accesses. ADC coordinated with the various tenants including Starbucks and Fired Pie to ensure the building and site would function in a manner acceptable to their needs. The result is a project that enhances the existing center’s ambience.
