Sumo Dog moved from Koreatown to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica boasting a new facelift. Inspired by Japanese culture, the new Sumo Dog restaurant implements materials and graphics that produce a modern take on Japanese design. The bar is made with a concrete countertop and a wood die wall that replicates the look of Shou-Sugi-Ban charred wood. The bamboo paneling and graphic canvas banners also add elements from the culture and create a façade that is minimal and elegant in design.
