“I love walking into a finished space and thinking, ‘I remember when this was only on paper.’”
Design That Comes to Life
As a Designer at ADC, Belinda works at the intersection of design and execution, helping turn early concepts and complex requirements into clear, coordinated, buildable solutions. She enjoys the problem-solving that comes with each project and the challenge of figuring out how all the pieces come together.
Her approach begins with how people will actually use a space. In retail environments, she pays attention to how customers move through the store, what catches their attention, and how the layout supports the people working there. From there, she focuses on lighting, materials, and the smaller details that give a space character and help communicate the client’s story.
Belinda sees communication as one of the most important parts of a successful project. Working closely with colleagues, consultants, and contractors has shown her how much stronger the work becomes when different perspectives and areas of expertise come together.
She is especially drawn to the moment when drawings become real spaces. Having the opportunity to visit completed projects in Southern California and experience something that once existed only on paper continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of the work. Belinda is currently pursuing architectural licensure and holds LEED BD+C credentials.
Outside the office, Belinda finds inspiration in nature and travel, whether spending time at the beach, getting away to a cabin overlooking a lake, or exploring places where architecture, food, culture, and everyday life come together. One destination currently on her list is Ace Hotel Kyoto and its surrounding neighborhood.
