“I like being able to balance the creative side of design with the technical aspects of making the design come to life.”
From First Idea to Finished Space
Jenny is involved throughout the design process at ADC, helping shape projects from the earliest conversations through documentation and construction. As a Job Captain and one of the primary designers on many of ADC’s interior projects, her work spans grocery, restaurant, and workplace environments, with a particular focus on developing the overall look, feel, and experience of a space.
She is especially drawn to the beginning of a project, when the possibilities are still open. Jenny works closely with clients to understand how they want a space to function and feel, using conversation, precedent imagery, materials, and early design studies to establish a clear direction. From there, she pays close attention to how colors, finishes, furniture, lighting, and architectural elements come together so the final space feels cohesive and intentional rather than like a collection of individual decisions.
For Jenny, good design also depends on collaboration. She enjoys working with clients, consultants, vendors, and the broader ADC team because each person brings a different perspective to the project. That exchange of ideas—and the problem solving that happens along the way—is an important part of how she works and continues to grow as a designer.
One project that stands out is Valley Farm Market, where Jenny worked through the construction documents from beginning to end. The project presented its share of challenges, but it also gave her the opportunity to see how early design decisions translate into technical details and, ultimately, into a space people actually use. That balance between creativity and figuring out how to make an idea real is a big part of what keeps her interested in design.
Outside the office, Jenny enjoys music festivals, watching sports, and spending time with her dog.
