“A strong workplace starts with people who know each other, support each other, and genuinely enjoy working together.”
Building the Team Behind the Work
Olivia has been part of ADC for ten years and plays a broad role in keeping both the people and day-to-day operations of the firm moving. As Director of Human Resources & Administration, her work spans project billing and contracts as well as payroll, benefits, employee relations, onboarding, and offboarding. Because ADC is a close-knit firm, she moves fluidly between the administrative details that support projects and the people-focused work that supports the team.
At the center of Olivia’s approach is relationships. She enjoys getting to know colleagues beyond their job titles – their families, weekend adventures, interests, and passions – and believes those connections help create a warm, productive workplace. She brings that same people-first approach to clients and enjoys building the relationships that make working together easier and more enjoyable.
Olivia believes successful teams need strong leadership, a willingness to teach, and a positive group of people who support one another. While her role is not design-focused, the systems, communication, and culture she helps maintain give ADC’s architects and designers the support they need to do their best work.
Outside the office, Olivia has a creative side of her own. An avid crafter, she built a studio in her garage and enjoys trying new things, working through the process, and turning an idea into something tangible. She finds inspiration in family, friends, and the world around her, and believes there is beauty to be found almost anywhere when you take the time to notice it.
One place still on her list is Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, where the combination of lush gardens and striking structures captures exactly the kind of unexpected beauty that inspires her.
