Architecture Design Collaborative (ADC) collaborated with Riverchase Galleria to complete a renovation of Alabama’s largest mall. The ADC team developed creative solutions to address the mall’s eccentric floor plan, to create seamless transitions to anchor tenants and other wings. Anchor tenant entrances are accented with a gradient pattern of tile, providing a transitional space. Twelve different tiles were selected from American Import and used to create a cohesive project. Unpolished tile is used on the lower level with polished tiles on the upper level for visual interest with variations of light. The center court area is highlighted with a woven tile accent band to distinguish the food court seating area for pedestrian circulation.
