North American Subaru, Inc. has opened its newly updated 17,500-square-foot workspace, showing a great mix of usefulness and brand identity. This new tenant improvement project is a big investment in employee comfort and work efficiency.
Design Innovation
The new space features a smart mix of open and private offices, carefully planned with a nature path lobby, conference facilities, and a special clay modeling area. A new mezzanine level and warehouse space complete the layout.
Brand Experience Integration
North American Subaru, Inc.’s large curved feature wall is the main focus of the design, paired with a new roof opening that brings natural light into the space. The design team added elements that show Subaru’s love for the outdoors and cars.
Creative Workspace Optimization
The layout creates a clear visual and physical link between designers and the clay model area, helping people work together better. Multiple work zones meet different needs:
- Studio desk areas for focused work
- Team spaces within the design studio
- Booth seating in the café
- Rest areas along the nature path
- Mezzanine workspaces
- An outdoor patio for breaks
Technology Integration
A new 32′ x 9′ video screen lets teams view life-size vehicles side by side, making real-size comparisons and showing outdoor parking scenarios. The unique-shaped screen surface, built into the curved wall, offers many display options for still and moving content.
Environmental Considerations
The design balances privacy and security needs while letting in natural light. Technology is key, with full-color range and light settings to match daylight perfectly.
Project Success Markers
The update has already shown clear improvements in employee productivity and movement time between different areas. The design includes several hidden features, such as a compass mark in the patio area that shows the center of the curving nature path wall, and a simple morse code pattern of the Subaru name in the outer wood slat wall.
Exterior Enhancement
While keeping things simple, the outside got a planned refresh with a better entry area. This design choice matched the client’s wish for a low-key presence while improving the overall look.
Collaborative Achievement
The project’s success comes from great teamwork between:
- The client’s design team
- Construction management (CBRE)
- Contractor (Turelk)
- Technology and furniture vendors
This update project for North American Subaru, Inc. shows how smart design can improve workplace usefulness while keeping brand identity. The smooth blend of natural elements, technology, and team spaces creates a place that helps innovation and productivity. The project shows successful workplace design that mixes good looks with practical use, setting a new standard for car industry workspaces.
