“A strong concept should guide every decision, from the first site plan to the finished space.”

Protecting the Big Idea

As a Senior Designer at ADC, Trung is most involved at the beginning of a project, where the fundamental ideas are established. His work includes site planning, conceptual design, 3D modeling, and developing the overall design direction, while working closely with clients, consultants, vendors, and the internal ADC team.

Trung approaches each project by establishing a clear idea grounded in the site and the client’s needs. From there, he uses planning and modeling to test how spaces connect, how the project responds to its surroundings, and whether each design decision supports the intended function and experience.

Just as important to him is what happens after the initial concept is established. Trung believes a successful project maintains the strength of that original idea as hundreds of decisions are made during design, documentation, and construction. Collaboration becomes critical in protecting that continuity.

That philosophy also reflects ADC’s approach to architecture and interiors. Trung sees them as parts of a single design process, with spatial ideas, materials, and the interior experience developing together rather than as separate exercises.

Outside the office, Trung enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, climates, and ways of using space—experiences that often give him a fresh perspective on design. He also enjoys golf and hiking, both as a way to spend time outdoors and clear his head.
