Project Year: 2019
Project Role: Architect
Mirror Stanford was part of MIRROR’s first major brick-and-mortar expansion, bringing the luxury connected-fitness platform to Stanford Shopping Center. ADC worked with Pinhero Construction and MIRROR to adapt the emerging showroom concept into a physical space where customers could personally experience a product that had previously been centered on fitness at home. ADC’s existing project record identifies the Stanford location as part of the same early rollout.
MIRROR combined a streamlined full-length mirror with an interactive display connecting users to live and on-demand workouts, professional instruction, personal training, and performance information. In the showroom, customers could experience that technology firsthand and better understand how it integrated fitness and wellness into the home.
ADC provided the architecture necessary to translate the rollout into the Stanford Shopping Center location, coordinating the tenant improvement with the existing building, technology requirements, and customer demonstration experience. The intentionally minimal architectural environment keeps attention on movement, interaction, and the MIRROR itself rather than surrounding customers with the equipment associated with a traditional gym.
The project reflects a broader evolution in luxury fitness and wellness: the experience is no longer defined by the size of a gym or the amount of equipment in it. Mirror Stanford created a small, focused environment where technology, personal training, and wellness became the experience.
