High Marea brings a Sonoran coastal kitchen to the ground floor of Del Mar Plaza, next to Valley Farm Market. The restaurant and market were designed as neighbors — one place to shop for ingredients, and one place to sit down for tacos, seafood, and a drink — rather than as two unrelated tenants.

The kitchen is built around a clear idea: Baja and Sonoran flavors, fresh seafood, and cooking without seed oils. That brief shaped how the room works. Counter service keeps lunch moving. The dining room and patio give the space somewhere to stay. The bar, seating, and circulation had to feel easy for a walk-in Del Mar crowd without losing the character of a coastal kitchen.

Architecture and interiors were handled together so the restaurant reads as part of the same Del Mar Plaza ground-floor experience as Valley Farm Market next door. Materials, lighting, and the relationship to Camino Del Mar support a room that is casual, durable, and specific to this concept — not a generic fast-casual shell.

The result is a restaurant that belongs to the market beside it and to the village around it
