IT’SUGAR – Baybrook Mall

ADC worked with GGP + Brookfield at Baybrook Mall in Friendswood, Texas to transform an existing center-court area into a flexible location capable of supporting an IT’SUGAR seasonal retail kiosk. The project required removing the existing fountain and adapting the common area to accommodate the operational needs of the temporary candy concept.

Behind the colorful holiday installation was a substantial infrastructure effort. ADC coordinated the power, water, sewer, and associated equipment required to operate the kiosk within the active mall environment. The completed work allowed IT’SUGAR to create a highly visible seasonal destination in the center court while giving the landlord the infrastructure needed to support the new use.

The project also demonstrates how relatively small interventions within a shopping center can activate underused common areas and create opportunities for temporary and specialty retail without the footprint of a conventional inline store.
