Trader Joe’s opened at 4060 Riverdale Road in a reused retail center that previously held Shopko. ADC’s client was the landlord and developer, not Trader Joe’s. The assignment was to prepare the building for a grocery tenant — principally the facade and related exterior work — so the center could receive the store.
The facade was designed to give the tenant a clear, identifiable frontage on Riverdale Road without turning the job into a Trader Joe’s interior project. ADC coordinated entries, storefront, and the face of the building with the landlord’s broader reuse of the center. Other landlord items were handled as part of that same exterior package.
The grocery brand and store fit-out belong to Trader Joe’s. ADC’s work stops at the building face and the landlord scope needed to make that tenancy possible. The result is a cleaner, current storefront on a busy Riverdale Road center, ready for the tenant that now occupies it.
