Valley Plaza

ADC developed the interior tile design for the renovation of Valley Plaza Mall in Bakersfield, using pattern, color, and material changes to bring movement and hierarchy to the center’s broad concourses. The flooring combines large-format Italian porcelain, a digitally enhanced terrazzo pattern, rich colored tile, and concrete-look tile. Multiple pattern studies were used to refine the angles and transitions while minimizing unnecessary cuts and material waste. Brass transitions help define changes between the four tile families and add a more crafted detail to the overall composition. The result gives the mall a contemporary visual identity rooted in a durable, highly functional material system.
