ADC designed the exterior storefront for Brandy Melville at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu. The work focused on the storefront only; ADC did not design the store interior. In Hawaii, the exterior system had to do more than establish the tenant’s identity. It also needed to meet demanding high-wind conditions.
ADC developed a brake-metal-and-glass storefront and coordinated the structural requirements needed for the exterior assembly. Large glazed openings maintain visibility into the store from the mall walkway, while the simple metal framing gives the storefront a clean expression consistent with the Brandy Melville brand. The result addresses both the visual needs of a national retailer and the more rigorous performance requirements of its Hawaii location.
